The Project Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-grade BMC Control-M and Control-M SaaS solutions. This role drives the end-to-end solution architecture, hybrid migration strategy, and technical governance across the full project lifecycle.
The Architect partners with Sales, Professional Services, and customer stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, aligned to business requirements, and successfully implemented. This role also provides guidance to delivery teams and serves as a subject matter expert for workload automation solutions.
Additionally, this role serves as the lead designer of developing the automation tooling, standardizing repeatable migration/conversion blueprints, and providing technical governance across multiple simultaneous migration streams.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
• Lead architecture and design of Control-M and Control-M SaaS solutions in complex enterprise environments
• Define and execute migration and conversion strategies from legacy or competitor schedulers (e.g., CA7, Autosys, IBM, Tidal, Redwood)
• Build and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), automated pre-processors, and repeatable execution paths to facilitate concurrent migrations.
• Conduct customer discovery sessions and define solution scope, architecture, and implementation approach
• Review and validate Statements of Work (SOW) to ensure technical feasibility and delivery alignment
• Provide technical leadership throughout delivery, ensuring solutions align with architecture and best practices
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and at-risk projects
• Design integration between Control-M and enterprise applications, databases, and third-party systems
• Develop and contribute to architecture documentation, migration plans, and best practice frameworks
• Mentor consultants and support team development through technical leadership and coaching
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Support, and BMC AI teams to ensure aligned customer outcomes

To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience 10+ years of experience in enterprise workload automation, infrastructure engineering, and solution architecture 
  • Strong expertise in BMC Control-M and Control-M SaaS (design, deployment, fine-tuning, and operations) 
  • Proven experience leading migration and conversion projects from enterprise schedulers 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments across distributed systems (Linux/Windows) and cloud platforms Experience designing integrated, scalable, and high-availability solutions 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  •  Programming/Scripting: Proficient in Python and/or Shell (Bash/PowerShell), JSON & XML is required 
  • Operating Systems: Linux/Unix, Windows Server Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL Server Integration Frameworks: REST APIs, Control-M Automation API, JSON & XML based configurations, Automation tools, and Enterprise system integrations Strong architectural, data analysis, and problem-solving skills Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions 
  • Leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams Ability to identify manual, repetitive tasks and abstract them into a single, scalable automated solution 
  • Proactive risk identification and issue resolution 
  • Commitment to quality, consistency, and customer success 
  • Proficiency in English, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Delivery of robust, scalable Control-M solutions aligned to customer needs Successful execution of complex migrations and automation initiatives

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills: 

  • Experience with Java and/or Perl Operating Systems: Mainframe (Good to have) 
  • Experience architecting parallel migration delivery structures 
  • Experience with Control-M SaaS migrations and cloud-based architecture 
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) 
  • Understanding of Mainframe (z/OS) Exposure to DevOps methodologies, including version control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Understanding of AI/ML models, intelligent automation, or AIOps concepts 
  • Proactive mindset in exploring and applying AI technologies to improve processes and outcomes 
  • Experience working on large, cross-functional projects BMC Control-M and Control-M SaaS certification 
  • High levels of customer satisfaction and stakeholder alignment 
  • Contribution to best practices, reusable assets, and delivery consistency Continuous reduction in migration "Lead Time" and manual effort

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 4,700,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
