Global Tax Senior Manager, Income Tax & Planning

Position Summary
The Global Tax Senior Manager plays a key role in supporting BMC Helix's global income tax function, with hands-on responsibility across domestic and international income tax operations.
This position manages day-to-day income tax compliance, planning, and forecasting, and actively contributes to the company's ASC 740 process. The Senior Manager will coordinate with external tax advisors and serve as a key contributor across cross-functional initiatives.
Reporting to the VP of Tax, the Senior Manager will work closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Product, and Sales teams to support transfer pricing execution, M&A activities, R&D credit study and the day to day management of a complex multinational software and cloud business.

Global Tax Strategy Support
- Support tax strategic planning by preparing financial models and analyses to help optimize the company's effective tax rate, cash taxes, and overall tax risk posture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A and Treasury on tax forecasting, capital structuring, cash planning, and long-term strategic initiatives.
Tax Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare and support the company's quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and related financial statement disclosures.
- Ensure SOX-compliant tax reporting processes and documentation.
Global Tax Compliance & Governance
- Manage U.S. federal, state, and local income tax compliance, as well as international tax filings across all jurisdictions.
- Support global tax audits, controversies, and communications with tax authorities and external auditors.
- Maintain and strengthen tax governance documentation, internal controls, and risk-management processes.
- Manage process redesign initiatives to improve efficiency, standardization, data accuracy, and audit readiness across global tax compliance activities.
Global Structuring, Transfer Pricing & Intercompany Policy
- Execute global entity structuring, intercompany arrangements, and transfer pricing policies in alignment with business operations and global regulatory requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders to assess tax implications of new business initiatives, legal entity restructurings, and geographic expansions.
- Monitor compliance with OECD, BEPS initiatives, and other cross-border tax developments.
M&A, Integration & Strategic Transactions
- Support tax due diligence, transaction structuring, financial modeling, and integration planning for M&A activities.
- Assist with post-acquisition integration execution and optimize tax structures following transaction close.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting; CPA required.
- 8–12 years of progressive tax experience with large multinational, public, or private-equity-backed companies and/or Big 4 public accounting.
- Solid working knowledge of ASC 740, U.S. federal, state, and international tax, including transfer pricing, GILTI, FDII, foreign tax credits, IRC 163(j), and cross-border structures.
- Hands-on experience managing transfer pricing compliance and related documentation.
- Experience operating within a SOX-compliant environment and reporting to senior tax leadership.
- Experience in software, technology, or SaaS business models is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $148,800 - $248,000
