As a DevOps Engineer III within the Helix Development Support team, you will design, deploy, and support scalable infrastructure platforms across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. You will play a critical role in architecting, automating, and maintaining platform services to ensure reliability, performance, and seamless operations for Helix product development and delivery. You will work closely with development, cloud operations, and security teams to streamline deployments and enhance overall system efficiency.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
  • Infrastructure Operations
    • Maintain and support platform deployment stacks across Kubernetes distributions, including K8s, OpenShift, Rancher, OKE, GKE, and EKS.
    • Deploy and manage private, public, and hybrid cloud environments on AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and other IaaS providers.
    • Deploy data centre environments across bare metal, virtualised, and cloud-native instances.
    • Provide architectural guidance for infrastructure services enabling product build, test, and delivery.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation
    • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
    • Automate and standardise cloud-ready infrastructure and operational workflows.
    • Build automation to improve the speed, reliability, and repeatability of deployments.
    • (Bonus) Contribute to tooling using Go or Python.
  • CI/CD & Platform Enablement
    • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
    • Enable developers and QA teams with reliable platform services for testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Observability, Reliability & Incident Response
    • Support monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting for platform uptime, configuration, and audit readiness.
    • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues across Kubernetes and cloud environments.
    • Drive performance optimization, scalability improvements, and cost efficiency.
  • Security & Governance
    • Integrate cloud and container security best practices into deployment workflows.
    • Work with change management and incident management tools to ensure SLDC compliance.
  • Collaboration & Influence
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, QA, cloud operations, and product.
    • Mentor team members and contribute to DevOps best practices across Helix’s multi-cloud ecosystem.
    • Communicate risks, dependencies, and technical recommendations effectively across a global team.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 

  • Experience
    • 7–10 years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
    • Hands-on experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes platforms (K8s, OpenShift, Rancher, EKS, GKE, OKE).
    • Strong experience with at least one public cloud: AWS, GCP, or OCI.
    • Experience supporting cloud and on-prem infrastructure environments.
    • Familiarity with SDLC processes and enterprise-grade operational practices.
    • Experience with networking, DNS, and basic database management is a plus.
    • Experience with Spectro Cloud or other Kubernetes orchestration management platforms is a plus.
  • Skills
    • Strong understanding of DevOps tooling, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and containerised environments.
    • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems across compute, networking, orchestration, and cloud layers.
    • Proficiency with automation frameworks, ie Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc..
    • Scripting experience in Python, Go or other system administration-related language
    • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with global teams.
  • Education
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
    • Certifications like AWS/GCP/OCI, VCP, ITIL, or MCSE are an added advantage.

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,790,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
