BMC is seeking an EMEA Tax Manager to join its EMEA Headquarters based in Amsterdam. This position will report directly to the EMEA Tax Senior Manager and will focus primarily on income tax accounting, compliance, research, planning, and audits. The position will require interaction and partnership with the corporate accounting group, treasury, legal, order services and other business groups within BMC. The ideal candidate should have excellent management and analytical skills, motivation, and confidence to independently address issues. Duties include:
- Preparation of income tax accounting provisions for BMC’s EMEA entities for the consolidated US GAAP financial statements and local statutory financial statements (including tax disclosures).
- Oversee and manage outside tax consultants preparing income tax compliance to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
- Review of income tax provisions and tax returns prepared by outside consultants.
- Preparation of transfer pricing information packages and review of local transfer pricing files prepared by outside consultants.
- Assist with implementation of the global minimum tax (Pillar II).
- Assist with implementation of new Tax provision software
- Assist with cash tax reporting and research and planning to minimize BMC’s cash taxes.
- Coordination and management of tax audits, assessments, payments and related processes.
- Assist with technical indirect tax matters such as VAT and withholding taxes.
- Support international tax planning and strategy initiatives including legal entity rationalization, mergers and acquisitions.
- Maintain knowledge of changing tax laws and regulations, identify and implement necessary changes.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- RA certification
- Large corporate tax experience preferred; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
- Strong technical tax background; strong tax research and planning skills; strong compliance skills
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP ASC 740 and tax impacts to financial statements
- Well organized; plans, organizes and monitors performance according to priorities
- Hardworking; willing to get into the details; strong analytical thinking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly self-motivated; takes initiative; proactive; anticipates situations; identifies and addresses issues; accountable
- Ability to transfer the application of tax theory to business situations and transactions
