Primary Role and Responsibility:
  • You must be able to define functional specifications, provide design information for product enhancements and maintenance, design workloads, and test plans where appropriate.
  • You would need to design and execute test plans for functional and non-functional validation; document test results. Develop and Tests product code according to BMC quality standards.
  • You would need to be a self-starter and able to work independently to provide quality solutions with little oversight.
  • You would need to work closely with the architects/developers, Quality Assurance Reps, technical publications, and other team members to design, develop, test, troubleshoot/debug features and functions of the product area.
  • You would need to build prototypes to achieve product definition, desired design goals, and desired quality.
Qualification:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and implementing mainframe applications and system exits in an IBM z/OS environment. This position would require you to have experience in designing and implementing mainframe systems software. 
  • Knowledge of VSAM/IAM Programming - Access method services, dynamic allocation, Indexing, and macros.
  • Knowledge of RACF/ACF2 processing and Storage Management services (SMS).
Required Skills: 
  • Strong experience with MVS Assembler. 
  • Knowledge of z/OS API programming techniques and Channel Programming.
  • Requires good experience in a combination of the following - JCL, VSAM, CICS, Batch, JES2/3, SDSF, ISPF, REXX, MVS Assembler.
  • Requires A good foundation of Diagnostics, Debugging, and Troubleshooting skills
Desired (NICE-TO-HAVE) Skills:
  • Knowledge of storage management/administration (DFSMS/HSM, tape systems, DASD) a plus
  • Knowledge of IBM Parallel Sysplex programming and environments
  • Experience with Jira and ISPW 
  • Strong Diagnostics, Debugging, and Troubleshooting skills, experience with IPCS a plus. 
  • Experience working under Agile methodology a plus
