BMC Application Restart Control is a Suite of products that reduce the time required to restart batch applications after failure by creating checkpoints at user-specified intervals. It enables users to implement batch checkpoint/restart capabilities and control checkpoint frequency so that batch applications can be resumed from the most recent checkpoint rather than from the beginning of the job step. BMC AR/CTL for IMS helps users determine the best balance between performance, restart time, and checkpoint overhead by controlling the checkpoint frequency outside the application.
