Position Description: The Information Security Engineer will support the Corporate Cybersecurity team to build out, maintain and troubleshoot our information security systems while supporting internal customers. Must be committed to customer service, teamwork, and building relationships. Will have the opportunity to learn multiple tools and technologies across multiple security domains.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain security tools and systems. Implement security policy, standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure ongoing security posture.
  • Provide expertise in security control configuration to business as needed.
  • Develop documentation to support ongoing security systems operation.
  • Develop, analyze, and implement security specifications.
  • Participate in incident response and break/fix situations as needed.
  • Analyze system services, operating systems, networks, and applications from a security perspective discovering security issues that appear under new threat scenarios.
  • Create custom use cases, system alarms, correlation signatures, watch lists and 20 plus custom regex parsers to meet customer's IT security needs.
  • Support onboarding and maintenance of a wide variety of data sources to include various OS, appliance, and application logs.
  • Create queries, dashboards, and visualizations to support BMC internal requirements and monitoring of the SIEM deployment.


  • 3+ years in IT security or relevant Windows, Unix/Linux, and/or network administration experience. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision as well as being a team player with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with SIEM technologies, threat hunting, and pen-testing tools and technologies, and working with malware analysis (preferred, not required)
  • Good understanding of information security threat landscape, and prior experience with threat modeling, and use of relevant tools and technologies.
  • Security and/or Networking familiarity or understanding in the following preferred.
  • Basic routing principles and networking fundamentals
  • Well known protocols and services (FTP, HTTP, SSH, SMB, LDAP)
  • Basic functions of operating systems

Minimum Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent course. 3+ years in relevant IT field Or

Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering or related field of study; at least 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
