BMC Mainframe Services focuses on all things IBM Mainframe.  We deliver full services from staff augmentation, Managed Services, ‘as a Service’, Application Managed Services and Professional Services which includes; Security Pen Tests, Assessments, Migrations, Upgrades, Project Delivery etc.

BMC Mainframe Services are forecast to be one of the largest services business units with BMC.  As such we are looking to expand our services, which are currently UK based, into our Global Services Delivery Centre in either Pune or Bangalore.

This is a very exciting opportunity to become a part of the first initiative and investment in our mainframe offshore team, working with, being trained, and mentored by industry leading experts.  We are looking to recruit a small team of people who are interested in a long and fulfilling career and future with BMC who will benefit from a world class training program.  This team will have the potential to lead the growth of the offshore team and the future of BMC Mainframe Services in India.


This role is initially for Security Administration and will extend to Database Administration.  The future career for both roles is full system programmer in Databases or security engineering for Security Administrator, however this career path is one that requires focus and dedication and is not achieved in a few months, but with the right support, focus, dedication and opportunity it could be achieved within 5 years.

A BMC Associate Consultant contributes to technical delivery engagements with support and guidance of our Consultants and Senior Consultants.  Starting with entry level tasks and growing with experience and training. 

·         Attends a mainframe training program designed for this role which includes technical training, soft skills and service management training

·         Pass technical assessments designed to assess your understanding of the mainframe and learned tasks

·         Customer Service training to ensure client engagements run smoothly and you are equipped to deal with all customer situations including escalations

·         Attend customer calls and represent BMC on appropriately assigned tasks

·         Monitoring and managing through to resolution incidents and problems on customer systems

·         Performing required tasks on customer environments under close supervision of your trainer / buddy

·         Identify and escalate risks and issues appropriate to role, exposure and understanding

·         Manage and deliver assigned responsibilities with minimum re-work


·         Bachelors Degree or equivalent (preferred but not necessary)

·         ITIL V3 (preferred but not necessary)


·         Working in a Technical IT environment for 2+ years (preferred but not necessary)

·         Any previous mainframe experience (preferred but not necessary)

·         Technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and E-Mail

·         Phone Skills/Etiquette – Intermediate Level

·         Works well in a team providing strong, relevant input and allows ideas from others to be shared and used when appropriate

·         Ability to work on your own staying motivated as the team is grown
