Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative AI Solutions Engineer to join our team and lead the development of intelligent AI agents and Generative AI solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, with a primary focus on Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and AI Builder. This role is ideal for someone passionate about pushing the boundaries of applied AI using low-code/pro-code hybrid approaches, with hands-on experience in building scalable, production-grade Generative AI (GenAI) systems and advanced conversational AI agents. 

Key Responsibilities:
1. AI & Development Expertise:
  • Demonstrate strong programming proficiency, particularly in Python and equivalent, with experience in AI-centric libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar technologies.
  • Understand and apply AI/ML concepts to practical business solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform environment.
2. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) & Knowledge Management:
  • Architect and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to enhance Copilot and AI agent performance using external knowledge sources.
  • Manage document chunking strategies, embedding generation, vector databases, and intelligent retrieval systems.
  • Integrate knowledge sources (SharePoint, Dataverse, OneDrive, etc.) into Copilot Studio agents.
3. AI Agent Development:
  • Design, develop, and deploy custom AI agents and copilots in Microsoft Copilot Studio capable of autonomous decision-making, multi-turn conversations, and complex task execution.
  • Build agents that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and multi-modal capabilities.
  • Implement adaptive orchestration of multiple AI skills, APIs, and data sources.
4. Copilot Studio Advanced Capabilities:
  • Master Copilot Studio Agent Builder advanced features including:
  • Custom plugin and connector development
  • Adaptive orchestration of multiple AI skills and APIs
  • Contextual memory and conversation state management
  • Dynamic prompt engineering and prompt tuning
  • Secure data handling and compliance practices
  • Generative AI capabilities integration
5. Power Automate & Workflow Automation:
  • Design and implement sophisticated Power Automate flows for:
  • AI-driven task automation and business process automation
  • Integration with Copilot Studio agents
  • Data processing and transformation workflows
  • Scheduled, triggered, and event-driven automations
  • Configure and manage various trigger types: message, data event, scheduled, and webhook triggers.
  • Create logical, scalable, and maintainable automation flows for complex business processes.
  • Integration & Connectivity:
  • Leverage Power Platform connectors and custom connectors to integrate enterprise applications and services seamlessly.
  • Connect AI agents with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI Service, and other Microsoft AI offerings.
  • Integrate with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and third-party systems.
6. Data Management & Optimization:
  • Manage data pipelines involving pre-processing, transformation, augmentation, and preparation for AI model consumption.
  • Ensure robust data handling practices including cleaning, validation, labeling, and structuring datasets for generative AI workflows.
  • Work with Microsoft Dataverse and other data sources to optimize AI agent performance.
7. Algorithm & Model Implementation:
  • Implement and optimize algorithms essential for developing and fine-tuning generative AI solutions.
  • Stay current with the latest GenAI techniques and apply them within the Power Platform ecosystem.
8. Communication & Leadership Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between the US-based Solution Architect and the India-based development team.
  • Translate high-level architectural proposals into detailed low-level design requirements.
  • Communicate technical requirements clearly and effectively across globally distributed teams.
  • Ensure developers understand solution intent, standards, and best practices.
  • Proactively identify gaps in understanding, technical risks, or design misalignment.
  • Facilitate asynchronous and synchronous communication to overcome time zone differences.
  • Provide technical guidance, code review oversight, and adherence to coding and architectural standards.
  • Lead team discussions, clarify requirements, and resolve delivery blockers.
  • Build strong team dynamics through collaboration, transparency, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor capable of representing both the Solution Architect’s vision and developers’ constraints. 
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure AI Services (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, AI Search)
  • Microsoft certifications in Power Platform or AI technologies
  • Understanding of enterprise security, governance, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with version control (Git/Azure DevOps) and ALM practices for Power Platform
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $111,525 - $185,875
