The BMC Digital Business Automation Engineer performs a key role in assessing and analyzing capabilities, business and technical requirements, and Customer business drivers. The engineer develops and delivers automation solutions that drive business value. In addition, the engineer determines environmental and personnel suitability, readiness, and provides best practice recommendations. As a Subject Matter Expert, the engineer’s guidance may cover implementation approaches, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of best practices to ensure success.

• Provides thought leadership and actionable guidance/ input to develop and execute a value realization roadmap.
• Shares knowledge and experience with peers and internal stakeholders around
o Internal automation capabilities
o Identifying opportunities for automation
o Identifying the right solution for the problem
o Design and build automations
o Test Plans and Deployment Plan
Your primary responsibilities for the role are:
• Responsible for participating in small teams comprised of BMC employees to deliver successful outcomes.
• Thought leadership in designing and building a “Automation” capability to drive hyper-automation in the enterprise.
• Designs, builds and delivers automations that drive measurable business value
• Improve the quality and efficiency of the solutions delivered to BMC clients to improve BMC business margins.

Qualifications /Experience/Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5(+) years of progressive experience in designing, developing and maintaining automation solutions.(JAVA, Python, JAVA Scripting, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc..)
• Operating systems – Linux, Unix and Windows
• Worked with people from different countries and with various cultural backgrounds – international experience preferred.
• SaaS experience
• Experience with Agile Development Software (Jira)
Qualifications/Experience/Certifications (Desirable)
• Knowledge of BMC Workload Automation solutions or other automation solutions (CA7, CA-ESP, CA-Autosys, IBM, Tidal, Redwood)
• Experience in an Automation Center of Excellence or similar organization
• Have worked with or basic understanding DevOps processes/tools such as:
o GitHub
o Jenkins
o Containers
o Kubernetes
• Understanding of different software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
• Knowledge of effective use of SharePoint, Salesforce and OpenAir
• SAFe certification
