A GP Senior Sourcing Analyst plans and directs the daily activities of assigned categories within a BMC functional area, based on a mid-term work plan and set of objectives.  S/he may be responsible for a range of goods and services, functional activity or geographical area. 

A Senior Sourcing Analyst builds strong working relationships with business partners, professional peers, and other team members and equally strong operating relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.  S/he is a resource for colleagues with less experience (shares knowledge/has a level of expertise) in his/her category, although they may not report directly. S/he also makes proactive and thoughtful recommendations to GP leadership about the direction of the category.

S/he ensures that effective contractual relationships are in place for external sourcing, which balances commercial arrangements with acceptable risk. S/he manages specific projects and initiatives, which improve GP efficiencies and add value to the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Services Procurement for the assigned Category (which may change over the time as per work requirement): Understands supplier base within assigned category, services provided and how suppliers are segmented.
  • Business Partner Management: engages with internal Business Partners beyond assigned tasks and sets business partner expectations through timely and accurate communication. Demonstrate best practices, anticipate questions and proactively closes issues with no surprises
  • Fearless in approach while working with Suppliers, Legal, Stakeholders and go above and beyond routine work not hesitating to escalate and elevate at higher level as and when needed.
  • Identifies and flags risk areas associated with primary responsibilities and assigned tasks. Asks questions and seeks further understanding about unknown areas that raise concern.
  • Assesses needs of stakeholders, conducts market analysis, and provides recommendation on supplier selection. Is aware of audit requirements and ability to maintain and showcase audit trail as an when needed
  • Constructs and executes plans for achieving lower prices on contracts
  • Good understanding of Contractual terms and requirements. Able to negotiate contracts with Suppliers independently.
  • Knowledge of developing strategic short-term/long-term category/sub-category strategy for responsible areas
  • Good to have experience in Oracle Purchasing (preferred) or another ERP
  • Analytical acumen to perform spend analysis, deep dive into data and put results into concise executive summary in Power Point
  • Listens attentively, states ideas clearly and recognizes when it is necessary to communicate. Is present in conversations, asks questions and engages and interacts when beneficial. 
  • Advanced/Expert ability in working with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements
  • Strong ability to influence and steer highly ethical process with business partners and suppliers
  • Excellent communication skill (written as well as Oral) to interact with suppliers as well as stakeholders in different geographies.
  • Willing to work in EMEA time zone.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Power Point and Word

Required Qualification/Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, or closely related business field, advanced degree a plus
  • 2-3 years professional work experience
  • Multi-national work experience is must (in-country or in a support capacity)
  • Expert analytic skills and ability to conceptualize and develop strategies and build models for business-related concepts
  • Proven track record and continually displays growth within managed category YoY
  • Expert in Excel and Power point with ability to prepare and deliver compelling business presentations

  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment with changing priorities and a level of ambiguity
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Good organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure
