Senior Solutions Engineer Digital Business Automation 

Position Description:

The BMC Senior Solutions Engineer for Workload Orchestration specializing in Managed File Transfer (MFT) provides consultancy to accounts and internal resources that require technical and product knowledge in the market to increase company revenue.

Primary responsibilities for role:
  • Maintain a significant balance of breadth and depth of product  knowledge across BMC Workload Orchestration with a major emphasis around MFT.
  • Participate as an integral part of sales cycles providing MFT subject matter expertise to understand current-state and co-create solutions / value propositions that increase sales and product adoption across multiple accounts.
  • Confidently deliver customer-facing presentations and lead collaborative thought leadership discussions at customer sites where the product is being evaluated or used.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to educate BMC customers and colleagues how Control-M addresses MFT + workload challenges/opportunities and the value it provides.
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of MFT technologies and their uses, the MFT competitive landscape and how a BMC Workload Orchestration solution compares and differentiates.  
  • As a solution champion, promote innovative MFT + WLA solutions using current product capabilities that address real-world customer challenges 
  • Interface with Product Management and Development to Influence product direction. 
  • Participate in occasional marketing events, Customer Briefings, Seminars, and User Groups. 

Products and Services / Client Responsibilities:
  • Design future state solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of MFT within Workload Orchestration (Control-M)
  • Quantify and communicate the value of BMC's proposed Workload Orchestration solutions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of current technology and forecast future technologies.
  • Advise technical and sales management on BMC Workload Orchestration offerings and strategy in existing accounts. 
  • Act as Customers advocate and trusted adviser.

Position Requirements:
  • Possess deep knowledge of the Internal MFT and External MFT markets including software technologies, terminology, and best practices. 
  • Required hands-on experience with at least one enterprise grade MFT solution (e.g., IBM Sterling, Axway, MoveIt, GoAnywhere, Globalscape, UDM, etc.)
  • Pre-sales experience and familiarity with workload automation technologies preferred  
  • Complete technical understanding of MFT and related technologies (e.g., FTP/S, SFTP, AS2, PKI, networking concepts, ports, firewalls, etc.) as well as their typical applications
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Systems required.  z/OS Enterprise Systems skills considered an asset
  • Basic Unix skills required (Unix admin skills a plus)
  • Programming skills a plus (i.e.,Python, Shell scripting, JSON, Rest., Java)
  • Technical knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization preferred
  • Understanding of modern Data Pipeline and Data Movement concepts
  • Awareness of software development lifecycles and common Dev/Ops tools.  
  • The role requires strong presentation skills for products and technologies.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work independently and maintain accountability to management. 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of available work time
