The VSE team partners closely with Sales and customers to capture requirements and articulate how BMC’s unique and differentiated capabilities can best serve customer needs. This is a highly visible team working with our most successful sales teams to support the most prestigious companies around the world.
As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will be working directly with Sales and Presales organizations in order to create strategy, timelines and deliverables to align customers initiatives on the Control M Product line. Those solutions help the world's largest companies to automate time-sensitive, business-critical workflows.
Here is how, through this exciting role, you will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
- Through a consultative approach, partner with sales teams to interpret often complex customer needs and develop innovative solutions delivering both business and technical value.
- Simplify the communication of both technical and business content to a varied audience (technical and non-technical customers).
- For a maximum impact on sales engagements, actively partner with the customer to document their current state, including applicable metrics to assist in defining the correct solution and support in business case creation and build deliverables for use by Sales and other Solution Engineers during the sales cycle.
- Culminating from what is uncovered of the customers business and their goals, deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and proof of concepts.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset and experience:
- You can embrace, live and breathe our BMC values every day!
- 5+ years’ experience in a presales capacity, or relatable technical role.
- Proven ability to develop a broad awareness of the client's technical architecture with enough knowledge to determine what is and is not possible.
- Experience of using a z/OS batch scheduling (Workload Automation) tool like Control-M or comparable solutions.
- Demonstrated artistry with creating and delivering compelling demonstrations.
- Basic knowledge of JCL, JES2, IMS, DB2, CICS and 3270 interface.
- SMP/E installation experience.
- z/OS address space management knowledge.
- Familiar with Windows and Linux basics.
- BMC Software product knowledge.
- Experience in Value Based Selling and MEDDIC sales methodology.
