To support our continued growth, BMC is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer to work closely with our sales team and customers to determine how we can best serve their unique needs by creating awareness of how our solutions can drive their business objectives and outcomes.

This is a key and highly visible role within our world-class Value and Solutions Engineering team, enabling prestigious customers to innovate in DevOps, DataOps and Big Data disciplines across the Australia and New Zealand market.

Experience Needed and Experience Offered:
  • Apply technology domain expertise and provide technical support throughout the sales cycle to drive opportunities to a successful conclusion.
  • Ability to interpret complex needs and develop innovative solutions to support our customers DevOps, DataOps and Big Data initiatives.
  • Ability to talk in the customers language and simplify communication of both technical and business content to a varied audience.
  • Ability to navigate large and sometimes complex sales opportunities with multiple technologies.
  • Responsible for researching the capabilities of our solutions vs. our competition and differentiating BMC in customer interactions.
  • Actively participate in sales calls as the solution expert ensuring alignment between BMC capabilities, discovered customer needs and their business outcomes.
  • Proactively builds ‘customer champions’, uncovering current state challenges and future state objectives to identify solutions and support business case creation.
  • Customises and delivers world-class presentations and solution demonstrations centred on customer current state challenges and future state objectives.
  • Proactively evangelises BMC solutions through technology and industry specific content (Whitepapers, Blogs…) and at marketing, customer & industry events.
  • Builds compelling deliverables for use by Sales and other solution engineers during the sales cycle. Researches, composes and delivers responses to RFPs as the solution and technology domain expert.
  • Installs solutions and executes proof of concepts aligned to specific agreed upon business requirements.
  • Actively contributes to BMC internal innovation programs and market/customer led product evolution.
What We Seek:
  • Significant PreSales or technical experience in Enterprise Software (Ideally related to comparable BMC products)
  • Ability to communicate technical and business information to a varied audience (technical and non-technical customers).
  • Subject matter expert on the technology and business use of one or more Workload Automation solutions (not necessarily Control-M) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with multiple, different IT platforms including mainframe, would be preferred.
  • Experience and expertise in DevOps, DataOps and Big Data disciplines
  • Experience with Runbook Automation or IT Process Automation would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Workload Automation or Big Data subjects is highly desirable
  • Ability to develop a broad awareness of the client's technical architecture and emerging technologies with enough knowledge to determine what is and is not possible.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Substantial experience working in an enterprise-type software consulting, implementation, support or training experience a major plus.
