BMC Software is looking for a Senior Solution Engineer to join our leading Australia and New Zealand presales organization to help support our continued success and growth.
This is a highly visible role working with BMC’s fastest growing portfolio supporting prestigious clients and new logo accounts across multiple industry verticals.

Day in the life:  As a Senior Solutions Engineer you will collaborate with our enterprise sales teams, channel partners and customers to drive awareness, advance sales opportunities and ensure customer success for our digital business automation platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle to drive opportunities to a successful conclusion.
  • Interpret customer needs and develop innovative solutions to support the client’s technology and business objectives.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations based on discovered solution requirements and customer business challenges
  • Proactively work with clients to document their current state, documenting relevant metrics to assist in defining the correct solution and to support business case creation.
  • Install solutions and execute proof of concepts aligned to specific agreed upon business requirements.
  • Research, compose and deliver responses to RFPs, interacting with clients as an SME to clarify requirements.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities or demand for BMC solutions in your territory and participate in demand generating events and activities for Pipeline Growth.
  • Active participation in sales calls as the solution expert ensuring alignment between BMC capabilities, value of the solution and the needs of the customer.
  • Researching and communicating the technical capabilities of BMC’s capabilities vs. our competition.
  • Represent BMC as a domain expert at events and industry Tradeshows
  • Creation and publication of industry specific content (Whitepapers, Blogs, etc..)
  • Proactive and continuous expansion of technical expertise and knowledge of BMC capabilities, industry direction and trends to remain current and audible ready.
What you Bring:
  • Significant Pre-Sales or consulting and technical experience in enterprise Software, with BMC or comparable solutions.
  • Subject matter expertise on the technology and business application of DevOps, DataOps and/or Workload Automation solutions across traditional infrastructure and cloud environments. [Control-M and mainframe experience is highly desirable].
  • Experience with Workload Automation in a Business Intelligence application [such as SAP] and Runbook Automation or IT Process Automation.
  • Strong listening and questioning techniques that enable you to develop a solid understanding of customer’s business, operational and technology goals and map BMC capabilities and outcomes to these needs.
  • Excellent customer facing and internal relationship building skills, coupled with outstanding written and verbal communication skills that enable you to quickly connect and build rapport with stakeholders all at levels.
  • Results-oriented with boundless energy and a winning attitude.
  • The ability to proactively manage demand, activities and outcomes in a self-sufficient manner.
  • An innovation mindset and the demonstrated initiative and resilience required for complex or longer-term sales cycles.
  • The ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
