BU Description/Position Description:
  • Participates in module design with focus paid to the production of high quality, portable, maintainable and BMC standards compliant software; Provides design and requirement inputs to product architect in support of aforementioned goals
  • A team member who is passionate about quality and demonstrate creativity and innovation in enhancing the product, with excellent problem solving, debugging, analytical and communication skills.
  • Understand real world deployment and usage scenarios from customers and product managers and translate them to product features that drive value of the product. Work with other internal groups like QA and technical writers through the development cycle. 
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies as required for a successful project delivery.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. 
  • Critiques the initial problem analysis and ensures that all documentation necessary for problem resolution is available in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and monitors the problem status data to ensure sufficient back up for the support team.
  • Coaches junior support team members in handling difficult customer situations.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • 8-10+ years of experience
  • Learning the purpose, features and use cases of the product to be tested. 
  • Design test plans and strategies for functional and non-functional validation. 
  • Work with Developers and other Quality Assurance team members for validation of product functionality, via manual or automated execution of test cases 
  • Write test automation scripts using automation framework for regression testing. 
  • We are targeting as much as possible automation of test cases so that testing becomes repeatable and the QA Engineer can focus on maintaining and evolving the test suite and the scripts associated 
  • Track all discovered issues and defects, and validate fixes provided by developers.
Primary Skills :
  • Selenium with Robot framework.
  • Automation in Python or proven experience and competency in a similar and contemporary testing environment 
  • Linux system administration (OS configuration & maintenance) 
  • Windows OS administration (Services, permission schemes, troubleshooting)
  • Hands-on on Kubernetes and Rancher based deployments
  • Casandra, Kafka , elastic search , VictoriaMetrics 
  • Cloud technologies specially AWS
  • GIT repository 
  • TestTrack , JIRA tools.
Good to have Skills:    
  • Virtual infrastructure management (VMware, Xen, Docker, OpenStack, anything in those areas. It’s about concepts.) 
  • Understanding of the wider enterprise software space and its users 
  • Network technologies 
  • Graph databases  
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and tools is required
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction with the ability to provide problem resolution in a timely manner.  
  • Quickly develop working knowledge of many products and integrations. 
  • Coordinate effective problem isolation across multiple product teams 
  • Experienced in bug fixing and testing the fixes in various environments and for various releases
Experience/ Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines preferred
  • 6-8+ years of experience
