Position Purpose:

The BMC Senior Project Architect performs a lead role in assessing and analysing capabilities, business and technical requirements, and Customer business drivers.  The Senior Project Architect develops, as necessary, solution architecture and program definitions.  In addition, the Senior Project Architect determines Customer environmental and personnel suitability, readiness to proceed, and provides best practice recommendations. 

The Senior Project Architect provides engagement stability by leveraging extensive technical and leadership experiences.  As a Subject Matter Expert, the Senior Project Architect’s guidance may cover implementation approaches, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of best practices to ensure Customer success. The Senior Project Architect role serves as a senior coach, mentor, and technical leader for members of the project team and Consultants.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Thought leadership with extensive knowledge in mainframe architecture, product solutions and services
  • Provides valuable actionable guidance during the pre-sales process to setup a successful customer conversion and value realisation roadmap
  • Helps customers architect optimal mainframe solutions
  • Advising and implementing best practices
  • Assists the BMC Governance team in successfully leading the engagement team
  • Provides mentoring and shares knowledge and experience with peers
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, services, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to lead effectively across multiple organisations
Skills and qualifications:
  • Fluent French and English required
  • Customer facing skills, Thought Leader to drive technical and project discussions with technical teams, project management and senior management
  • Demonstrates ability to think strategically about business, product, services, and technical challenges
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering mainframe solutions and services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively across the organisation
  • Skills in BMC and non-BMC mainframe products
  • Hands-on experience in mainframe solutions, including:
  • Operating system
  • Sub-systems (Db2, CICS, MQ, etc.)
  • Storage
  • Security
  • Hardware
  • Must be familiar with other IT technologies
  • Excellent presentation skills to enable communication with technical teams and management
  • High organisation and planning skills
  • Experience in designing architectures for highly available, highly scalable, and highly secure mainframe systems
  • Experience in migrating mainframe systems (including products)
  • Experience in analysing mainframe systems to formulate plans to improving or migrating the systems
  • Experience in a technical lead role
