Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

For this role, you will be part of a team of 5-10 developers working on the development of Helix (Open) Telemetry and Helix Intelligent Integration products. Your responsibilities will include implementing new features, fixing bugs, and reviewing code from other team members. The team follows daily scrums and works in 2-week sprint cycles. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of tasks, and is comfortable seeking guidance when needed.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

5+ years working with Scala
Experience with modern effect systems for Scala such as ZIO, Monix, or Cats Effect
Knowhow of Java or other concurrency patterns
Strong experience in Test Driven Development and experience using ScalaTest or similar
Fluent in English with excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex details
Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL, MySQL, Postgres, etc)
Experience working with messaging frameworks like Kafka
Experience working with cloud technologies: Oracle, AWS, or GCP
Experience working in containerized environments like Kubernetes and using tools like Kubectl

Preferred:

Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience with Arangodb or Clickhouse
Experience working with OpenTelemetry
Experience working with existing APM solutions like Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar
