Senior User Experience Designer at BMC software is responsible for delivering design solutions and artifacts for various digital products through the Design Thinking process and agile execution. Sr. UX designer works closely with product managers, developers, researchers, data scientists/modelers, data analysts, SMEs of various domains such as Mainframe, etc. while bringing a strong point of view on delivering innovation and optimal product experiences to our customers.


Responsibilities:

• Design exceptional products from start to finish, participating in all phases of design, from definition to development and optimization.
• Iterate actively with prototypes at all levels of design fidelity, informed by user research, market trends, and business goals.
• Communicate and share often in written, verbal, and visual forms to create alignment and move the work towards implementation.
• Collaborate regularly with engineers to ship high-quality experiences.
• Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with the product team to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.
• Foster a healthy design culture and principles within the group, while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.
• Consult with partners across the design and engineering to prioritize the teams’ efforts.
• Contribute to the design system

• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools and familiarity with development.
• A genuine interest and familiarity with some of our products and the open-source community.


Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in designing digital products and design systems
• Experience in Design Thinking/ human-centered design
• Experience in design research and usability
• Experience in UX design from concept to launch
• Proven history of Figma/Sketch expertise, including strong prior experience implementing (using, contributing to) a design system for digital products in a complex product ecosystem.
• Advanced and up-to-date knowledge of Figma/Sketch and its components functionality and a working knowledge of other contemporary design and prototyping tools.
• A systems thinker who enjoys finding creative solutions to organizational, architectural, and design challenges.
• Portfolio demonstrating understanding of visual harmony, information hierarchy, and best practices around design patterns.
• Highly developed time-management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Experience working with front-end engineering teams and foundational knowledge of front-end development.
• Comprehensive understanding of constraints and guidelines as they apply to design for digital platforms, including web, iOS, and Android.
• Awareness of accessibility best practices and interest in advocacy for accessibility for all users within HDS.
• Design experience in developing products for consumer loyalty and engagement
• Experience in (and appreciation for) rapid prototyping and Lean UX
• Experience contributing to documentation and education around design systems
