Senior Assembler Developer

Job Description:

A highly successful and geographically dispersed Product Development team seeks a Sr Assembler Developer to join their Development team. As the Assembler developer, you will be working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Your work will include collaboration across different BMC products lines. You will be managing a varied workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development and product maintenance. You will be communicating with various teams to help resolve customer issues. As part of the development team, it would be your responsibility to develop and debugging of software products.

Experience summary:

  • 6+ years of experience in Assembler code development
  • Experience with TSO/ISPF, IMS, SMP/E, SDSF, JES2, ISPF, JCL, z/OS Utilities 

·       Experience in designing and implementing mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment

·       Strong Diagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills to include diagnosing SVC dumps

·       Good knowledge of additional programming language such as C will be beneficial

  • Experience with Agile development methodology
  • Experience with Jira for defect reporting and Agile Scrum Board work tracking/updating

Desired skills

·       Working knowledge of REXX programming is beneficial

  • Good proficiency in English language is required 
  • Position requires the candidate to be a fast learner, good team player with excellent communication skills
