Job Title: Senior Product Developer (Performance Test Engineer)
Location: Pune
 
The performance team evaluates the performance of various BMC products. 
The evaluation includes understanding the non-functional requirements from the business, analyzing the critical business scenarios, developing test automation, execute performance test and analyze the results to identify the performance issues across all the tiers e.g. client, server/microservices, and DB tier, analyze the issues, provide recommendations to the development team and work with the development team to get the issues fixed. 

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY: 
  • You are expected to work on BMC products and should have strong Performance Testing and Engineering Experience. 
  • You will be responsible for taking complete ownership of performance testing/engineering of various components of flagship BMC products, developed in Java/J2EE.
  • Along with performance testing/engineering, you will also be responsible to tend to critical customer escalations and provide timely help in analyzing/diagnosing the performance issues. 
  • You are expected to provide technical help/expertise to field engineers, technicians, product support and customers who are troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex systems and/or software.
  • Participates in Performance Testing and Engineering activities and should be able to perform performance data analysis, triage performance issues, and monitoring focused on performance and scalability. 
  • A team member who is passionate about quality and demonstrates creativity and innovation in enhancing the product, with excellent problem solving, debugging, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new BMC products and technologies as required for a successful release delivery.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Critiques the initial problem analysis and ensures that all data necessary for problem resolution is available in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Around 9-11 years of overall experience in the IT industry and 5 - 7 years in Performance Testing/Engineering. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and tools is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Performance Testing tools like Silk Performer, JMeter, Load Runner. 
  • Hands-on experience with designing Performance test scenarios, preparing test scripts & carrying out test execution using performance testing tools.
  • Knowledge of profiling tools to identify bottlenecks in CPU, Memory, Network, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of at least one database such as Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL etc. and programming/scripting languages like Java/Python.
  • Experience in performing simulation or lab experimentation to analyze product performance.
