We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our UX Team.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will contribute to design efforts on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. You should be adept at proposing and documenting software UI design, analyzing requirements and developing high-quality interaction designs.


PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

You will be working on several of the leading BMC products. Strong technical and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to assume ownership and drive issues to completion are the key success factors.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

            Design consistent, intuitive, and easy to use enterprise web application UIs

            Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams of:

o            Product managers

o            Software architects

o            Developers

o            QA engineers

o            Technical writers

o            Researchers

            Understand business needs, interpret user stories and use cases and produce wireframes by applying interaction design patterns and UI standards and guidelines

            Create design solutions that meet user needs and technical constraints in collaboration with lead designers

            Participate in research studies and integrate research insights to create design solutions


QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

            Degree in UI Design, Psychology, Human Factors or related HCI discipline, or demonstrated experience and proficiency in interaction design and usability

            8+ years’ experience as a user interface designer for enterprise-class web applications

            A portfolio of wireframes/mockups demonstrating web application UI designs (not websites)

            Background developing and applying UI design patterns, standards and guidelines

            Ability to apply user research methodologies to learn, and innovate to solve customer needs

            Communicate clearly and effectively with peers and stakeholders

            Work independently as well as collaborate with interaction and visual designers

            Proactively engage with feature teams to determine priority of UX features associated with area of ownership prior to release

            Detail-oriented, embrace development and UI best practices

            Hands on, capable of creating and iterating wire frames and interactive prototypes

            Familiarity with industry standard design tools: Sketch, Adobe Suite, Invision, Figma or similar

DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:

            Understanding of current UI/Front End frameworks 

            Exposure to mobile interaction design patterns for iOS and Android 

            Visual design and HTML/CSS experience

            Knowledge of GUI accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)

            ITIL knowledge/certification

            Experience on agile development projects
