Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!

We are seeking a skilled Operations Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong set of technical skills and competencies necessary for automating IT processes, streamlining operations, and improving efficiency within an organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of IT operations, automation, and systems integration, as well as experience with various operating systems. Knowledge of and experience with BMC Helix Automation Console and TrueSight Automation for Servers is preferred.

Training and Certification:

Training Courses: Participation in relevant training courses to acquire foundational knowledge and skills in automation tools and IT operations.
Certifications: Pursuit of industry-recognized certifications in IT automation, infrastructure management, or related fields is highly beneficial. Certifications specific to BMC Helix Automation Console and TrueSight Automation for Servers are preferred.

Experience Requirements:

Previous Experience: Hands-on experience working with automation tools, IT management platforms, or related technologies is required.
Project Experience: Experience participating in projects involving the implementation, configuration, and optimization of automation tools and solutions. Experience with BMC Helix Automation Console and TrueSight Automation for Servers is a plus.

Continuous Learning:

Stay Updated: Commitment to staying current with new features, best practices, and industry trends related to IT automation technologies.
Professional Development: Engagement in continuous learning activities, including attending webinars, participating in user groups, and pursuing further education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Conclusion: The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, soft skills, and a commitment to continuous learning to the role of an Operations Developer. Knowledge and experience with BMC Helix Automation Console and TrueSight Automation for Servers will be a significant asset, enabling the candidate to drive automation initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations across diverse environments.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in IT Operations: Strong understanding of IT operations concepts, including server management, networking, infrastructure components, and security practices.
Knowledge of IT Automation: Expertise in automation principles and experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting). Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
Operating Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in managing and automating tasks across various operating systems, including Windows, UNIX, and Linux.
BMC Helix Automation Console and TrueSight Automation for Servers (Preferred): Experience in implementing, configuring, and managing automation processes using BMC Helix Automation Console and TrueSight Automation for Servers is highly desirable. This includes automating server provisioning, configuration management, and compliance tasks.
Integration Skills: Ability to integrate automation tools with other IT systems, such as IT service management (ITSM) platforms, security solutions, discovery tools, and monitoring systems. Understanding of APIs and experience working with RESTful services is beneficial.
Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, particularly in diagnosing and resolving issues related to automation workflows, scripts, and system configurations across different operating systems.

Soft Skills:

Analytical Thinking: Capable of analyzing complex IT environments, identifying automation opportunities, and designing efficient workflows to meet business requirements.
Problem-Solving: Aptitude for diagnosing the root causes of automation failures or performance issues and implementing effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, convey technical concepts clearly, and document automation processes effectively.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving IT environments, changing technologies, and shifting organizational priorities.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and precision in automation configurations, scripts, and documentation.

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
