The IZOT product line includes BMC’s Intelligent Z Optimization & Transformation products, which help the world’s largest companies to monitor and manage their mainframe systems. BMC is looking for a talented z/OS Platform Systems Admin to join our family working on packaging, enhancing, and monitoring internal systems used to deliver mainframe products to BMC customers.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

• Monitor and maintain automated processes, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate with the product, teams to ensure fixes, releases, and enhancements are delivered.

• Perform problem analysis and work with IBM to resolve problems on all supported subsystems and developing documentation and provides knowledge transfer to peers.

• Implement new hardware and software technologies as required

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• You can embrace, live and breathe our BMC values every day!

• You have 7+ years of experience on IBM zSeries (mainframe) System Programming expertise

• You have experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting mainframe issues.

• You have familiarity with IBM system utilities and JCL

• You have familiarity with SMP/E, TCP/IP, CICS, DB2, MQ, IMS as well as TSO, CLIST, REXX, and ISPF, JES2/JES3, USS

• You have diagnostic and problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to work issues to resolution

• You have the ability to resolve issues and be familiar with systems software not limited to, but including z/OS, CICS, IMS, MQ, DB2, and storage management practices.

• You have proficiency with software installation, configuration, and maintenance processes and knowledge with IBM products and utilities

• You have the ability to remain calm, cordial, and effective during the resolution of the time-critical system interruptions/difficulties/failures and work in customer-support/customer service situations

• You have the ability to meet set deadlines for daily/weekly/monthly PTF management processes

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:

• File transfer products experience

• SMP/E knowledge

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,628,600 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
