BMC is looking for a Product Management Team Leader to lead our amazing Control-M’s Core Platform PM team in Israel.

Control-M is BMC’s industry-leading orchestration and automation platform. Control-M from BMC helps the world's largest companies automate time-sensitive, business-critical workflows. We orchestrate data and ML pipelines, supply chains, production lines, financial transactions, and many other processes in complex IT environments worldwide.

The Control-M product management team defines the future vision for the product, analyses business opportunities, specifies and prioritizes customer requirements, directs product development teams, and supports successful commercial outcomes throughout the product lifecycle. As product manager, you will be or become an expert on the product, market, and related business domains.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage a team of 2-5 product managers, focusing on Control M’s Core Platform (SaaS + on-prem)
  • Handle all people management aspects: mentoring, priorities, performance reviews, career development, hiring, etc.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define product strategy, investment priorities, and long-term roadmap direction
  • Create and scale product management best practices, processes, and frameworks to improve execution, prioritization, and decision-making
  • Serve as a hands-on product leader alongside management responsibilities, including product strategy, customer engagements, roadmap planning, and key product decisions, 
  • Work closely with development and QA, solutions marketing, and support teams to ensure that solutions are delivered to plan, sales teams are enabled, and customers are satisfied.
  • Ensure product-market fit in the domains under your responsibility, including maintaining a strategic backlog of prioritized features (we currently use Aha!).
  • Work in a globally distributed organization and will be expected to collaborate effectively with remote stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of product management experience in an enterprise/B2B software company, including both SaaS & on-prem experience
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in direct management of product managers in a global environment, including: coaching, task management & prioritization, performance reviews, career development, hiring, etc.
  • Proven experience working directly with enterprise customers & a strong customer service ethic
  • Demonstrated experience in product management of SaaS platforms for complex services & deep understanding of SaaS technologies
  • Experience in operational aspects of SaaS, including handling regulatory and security requirements, onboarding processes, SaaS Analytics, etc.
  • Technical background as a Software Developer or similar
  • Experience with platform approaches – one codebase serving multiple business solutions, with attendant prioritization challenges
  • Fluency in using AI tools for a variety of day-to-day PM tasks; e.g. market and user research, business cases, writing PRDs / stories, etc. to drive with velocity
  • Confidence in presenting to different types of audience (technical/business, junior/senior, small/large).
  • Ability to distil complex business and technical requirements into clear, concise requirements and prioritized feature backlogs.
  • Proven collaboration with marketing staff to ensure clear internal and external messaging.
  • Ability to move seamlessly between the 'big picture' and very low levels of technical and business detail.
  • Fluent English, spoken and written.
  • A can-do approach.
  • Willingness to travel
  • A first degree or equivalent, ideally in a science or engineering discipline.

Advantages:
  • Deep domain expertise in one or more of: workload automation, data platforms, orchestration, observability, AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of various business domains such as Telecom, Finance, Retail, IT Service Management etc.
  • Knowledge / experience of agile methods (especially lean); familiarity with Aha!, Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience in Cloud-based services and related technologies - containerization, serverless approaches, vendor-specific cloud services, cloud security.
