We are currently hiring a Senior Manager of Finance who will lead the development of our strategic pricing function. 

 At BMC, you will have the ability to significantly influence the implementation of a new Quote-to-Cash system, lead and execute the global pricing and licensing strategy, and own the advancement of metrics and dashboards that articulate price performance. And provide actionable insights.

This new and exciting role reports directly to the AVP of GTM Finance and is part of a collaborative group where people are willing to step out of their roles to help others.  The finance team members at BMC serve as trusted advisors to the business group and have responsibility for budgeting, expense management, forecasting, and business analysis.  In this role you will collaborate across Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Solutions Marketing, Operations, and Finance.

  • Serve as Business Finance lead on our Quote-to-Cash implementation
  • Develop a roadmap for future strategic pricing function
  • Work with Product Management to understand product roadmap and feature/function to develop pricing and licensing (aka packaging) recommendations both aligned and scaling with customer value 
  • Develop subject matter expertise on competitive pricing practices, packaging approaches, and overall trends
  • Evangelize the importance of governance and beyond-transactional thinking
  • Analyze discounting behaviors, consuming large, imperfect datasets
  • Lead presentations to senior leadership in Product, Sales, and Finance alike
  • Drive development of KPIs and reporting to measure the effectiveness and outcomes of pricing actions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data or Mathematical discipline required
  • MBA a plus
  • 3+ years of Pricing & Licensing Strategy experience in an enterprise software and/or SaaS setting; Management Consulting and/or Corporate Strategy experience a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts clearly and credibly to multiple audiences is critical
  • Self-starter with an ability to dig into details, develop an understanding of and navigate complex situations with minimal guidance
  • Critical thinking and understanding of strategy, marketing, and Go-to-Market principles
  • Experience with subscription and usage-based models a plus
  • Knowledge of OneStream, Tableau, Microstrategy, Oracle, Zuora, and/or Alteryx a plus
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and proficiency in turning business and data insights into pricing strategy a plus
  • Effective relationship and team-building skills with the ability to manage change and act as a change agent
  • Experience with delegation structures and/or holding approval authority a plus
  • Experience working with and/or managing a small team of deep SMEs a plus
