Description and Requirements
- Develop and own the BMC Innovation narrative and messaging.
- Develop effective communication activities and programs including product positioning decks for internal and external consumption, collateral development, messaging source documents (MSD), sales plays, solution briefs, white papers and customer engagement.
- Own and manage the innovation programs that promote and evangelize BMC Innovation Labs and programming internally, externally, and with our ecosystem.
- Be involved in the product lifecycle and then build the go-to-market while working closely with the product owners to get insight and requirements for content build.
- Create proper and thorough documentation describing product features and enhancements as appropriate, reviews existing documentation for accuracy and correctness.
- Once products are launched, monitor messaging of incubations to ensure these products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation, adjusting the messaging over time to continue to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Drive awareness and excitement of the new offerings with the sales team.
- Work closely with incubation leaders to understand product strategies and roadmaps
- Plan new product/capability launches and drive the cross-functional implementation of those plans to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Collaborate and generate support from Solutions Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Employee Communications, and other teams to tell the BMC Innovation story.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/MS preferred
- 8+ years of professional experience in enterprise software with 4+ years in technical product marketing /product management.
- Strong writing skills with experience building impactful content including white papers, interactive product demos, webinars, videos and case studies
- Demonstrated experience and proven track record working in a highly technical solution
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external customers to drive results
- Experience communicating with sales teams, customers, prospects, analysts, and internal management
- Data driven marketing approach, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business benefits
- Strong analytical skills, an attention to detail, and an overall “can-do” attitude
- Knowledge of the “Challenger Selling” methodology a plus
