SENIOR MANAGER COMMISSIONS - WORLDWIDE
THE TEAM'S CORE MANDATES:
The Global Field Compensation (GFC) team is responsible for the design and execution of the global sales and customer success compensation plan & policy. Our key role is to ensure the compensation plan is aligned to the business strategy and motivates the sales & customer services organisations while ensuring they are paid accurately. The team’s core mandates are:
• Sales Compensation Plan Design: Working with senior executives annually to adjust the sales compensation plan to align to the strategic priorities of the company while motivating the participants
• Policy Design & Administration: Ensuring we have fair & effective governance of compensation plan and an efficient process to handle exceptions
• Calculate Incentive Payments: Administering the compensation system to ensure timely and accurate payments are provided to payroll and finance
• Field Support: Ensuring the field proactively understand their compensation plan, responding to queries they may have about their plans & payments and managing the exception request process
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Sr Manager of Commissions will lead a team of coworkers whose key responsibility has a strategic role in commission plan and policy design and ensuring the accurate and timely payment of commissions earned. This is a working management role where you will work closely with the field, sales operations and finance teams, as you roll up your sleeves and dive in. The role requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills; the ability to make decisive decisions based on data and sound metrics, all in alignment with company policy. It also requires the ability to see the long term impact of today’s decisions, supporting a rapidly changing organization. Overall characteristics include a high level of integrity and drive to get things done, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
As a leader within the Global Field Compensation team, the successful candidate will:
• Guide research and data analysis as inputs to strategic decision-making impacting commission plan & policy design supported by providing industry insights
• Serve as the trusted commissions advisor to help the business understand the impact of their business decisions, providing value added alternatives with accompanying analytics
• Develop, evaluate and implement commissions models, field incentive pay variables, and strategies to ensure they continue to meet business needs
• Challenge the status quo in a trusted advisor capacity
• Manage and coordinate the annual commissions policy and field feedback on the plan design
• Coordinate the monthly and quarterly close process
• Develop processes/reports to enhance and standardise tracking of key commission metrics, analysis and interpretations of the data
• Drive enhancement of policies, procedures and business practices that improve efficiency within the Commissions function and the business
• Manage projects that require cross-functional collaboration; set deadlines; assign responsibilities; monitor and summarize progress

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong background in analysis & problem solving and executing against ambiguous questions
• In-depth knowledge of Sales Commissions ideally in the Technology or Software industry
• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and influence coworkers at all levels, including senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, proactive relationships cross functionally
• Proven ability to lead and manage a cross-functional project teams and experience in coaching and developing high-performing team members
• Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience with enterprise reporting tools (e.g. MicroStrategy) & commission systems (e.g. Callidus)
• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Finance or Accounting or similar discipline preferred; MBA, MA, or other graduate degree a plus
• 5+ years of management experience in Commissions, Finance or Operations
