Join us as a Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting!

As the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting at BMC, you will be primarily responsible for managing, analyzing, and evaluating complex accounting activities to support the centralized Corporate Accounting functions.  You will interact with various groups within BMC, including international teams, to achieve financial goals, refine and update company-wide accounting policies, and monitor/utilize various accounting systems. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting, you will lead a team of two senior-level accounting personnel, including “dotted line” oversight of the services performed on behalf of Corporate Accounting by the global shared services team in Pune, India. Additionally, you will have significant interaction with other global accounting teams and work cross-functionally with departments within BMC including Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Legal, Human Resources, and others.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: 
  • Manage the global monthly and accounting close process, including preparation of the corporate close calendar, managing the close progress against deadlines, and coordinating with global accounting teams.
  • Accounting and internal control activities for share-based compensation plans, bonus plans and other global compensation programs, as well as foreign currency matters, intercompany transactions, lease accounting, derivative accounting, business combinations, debt modifications, and other centralized accounting processes.
  • Technical research, evaluation, and documentation for significant, complex transactions for areas of influence.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and corporate policies/processes, and evaluating processes and controls for continuous improvements and influencing change where needed.
  • Serve as the liaison with domestic and international locations, addressing ad hoc questions and issues, to ensure global consistency on various accounting matters, including management of the global chart of accounts.
  • Provide input for and oversight of US GAAP disclosure requirements related to Corporate Accounting areas of influence, in coordination with the Financial Reporting team, ensuring accurate disclosures in external financial statements.

To ensure you are set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • You hold a CPA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5+ years of work experience with demonstrated career progression.
  • You have experience in corporate accounting and financial controls within a public company environment or public accounting firm, with a strong knowledge of financial principles and US GAAP.
  • You possess advanced technical research capabilities suited to the demands of a complex global enterprise.
  • You have experience performing complex calculations and reviewing complex reconciliations of large volumes of data, while understanding the accounting impact and implications of transactions.
  • Proficiency with selected software applications; experience with Oracle and OneStream a plus.
  • You possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as the position requires regular partnering with Company leaders and others across multiple corporate functions, as well as third-party service providers.
  • You bring team leadership experience encompassing mentoring, performance evaluation, and career development.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $129,375 - $215,625
