Description and Requirements

As a Senior PostgreSQL DBA you will be joining a world-class team of BMC Software and focusing on; day-to-day production operational tasks, database administration, architecture, and automation of database services & solutions.

What we are looking for:

·        5-6+ years of experience in PostgreSQL support work

·        Strong backup and restore (pg_dump, physical backup tools) experience

·        Strong database performance tuning

·        Strong SQL Query tuning and development experience

·        Strong troubleshooting skills

·        Solid experience with Postgres PL/pgSQL

·        Replication and failover experience

·        User and object permission management

·        Postgres versions 9.6, 10, 11+

·        Linux command-line operating system experience (Centos/RHEL 7/8 preferred)

·        Linux software install and configuration

·        Scripting and task automation (Bash, Python, Git)

·        Networking as related to database (Linux iptables, DNS, load balancers)

It would be an advantage for you to have:

·        Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

·        Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including cloud DB technologies (RDS, Aurora)

·        Experience with Patroni high availability
