As a Sr PostgreSQL DBA you will be joining a world-class team of BMC Software and focusing on; day-to-day production operational tasks, database administration, architecture, and automation of database services & solutions.

What we are looking for:

5-9+ years of experience in PostgreSQL support work and Postgres PL/pgSQL. Experience on Postgres versions, 12+, 13, 14

Strong backup and restore (pg_dump, physical backup tools), database performance tuning experience

Strong SQL Query tuning and development, troubleshooting skills experience

Replication and failover experience

User and object permission management

Linux command-line operating system experience (Centos/RHEL 7/8 preferred), Linux software install and configuration

Scripting and task automation (Bash, Python, Git)

Networking as related to database (Linux iptables, DNS, load balancers)

It would be an advantage for you to have:

Solid experience in Oracle DBA will be a significant differentiator.
Experience configuring & implementing Oracle 12c and 19c
Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including cloud DB technologies (RDS, Aurora)
Experience with Patroni high availability

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field with 8 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in database administration.
