BMC Mainframe Services (BMS) has an exciting opportunity to grow our team with the opening for a Senior Mainframe DevOps Consultant.  We are forecasting BMS to be the largest Services unit within

BMC and are looking for the right people to help develop and grow our Germany based practice.

The ideal candidate can be located anywhere in USA, Canada, EMEA, or LATAM. 

As an experienced mainframe person, you will be part of a team that has been acknowledged as an industry leader. You will help our clients grow their business by providing configuration, and conversion work for the BMC DevX Code Pipeline source code management product.


Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Works interactively with all project staff, both BMC internal and Customer.
  • Performs and coordinates the Configuration, Migration, and Implementation activities of BMC Code Pipeline (ISPW) Change Management Software.
  • Contributes to Customer ready design documentation to support all Functional requirements, Technical Solution Design, Test Strategy and Deployment Plans
  • Advises on updates to the Project or Service Schedule to the Project Manager, Practice Lead or Service Delivery Manager
  • Recognizes customer requests that fall outside scope of the SOW or any new opportunities and brings it to the attention of the Project Manager/Practice Lead for further review.
  • Successfully moves Customer into production on the target BMC solution, transitioning the project to closure with both the customer and BMC teams.


Mandatory Experience:

  • 7+ relevant years mainframe technical experience as an automation expert:
  • Strong experience in TSO, USS, JCL, REXX, ISPF skeleton processing
  • 5+ years working in a support role (Development Support or Operations Analysis)
  • Knowledge of compilers, binder, code release techniques (bind, phase-in)
  • Consultative skills with customers, contractors when driving deliverables and setting priorities
  • A self-starter, willing to work in a geographically dispersed team, with a proven ability to meet assigned timelines with high quality, complete deliverables in unsupervised, often remote, situations

Desirable Experience:

  • Mainframe Source Code Management expertise as administrator

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $108,525 - $180,875
