Here’s How You Will Contribute to BMC’s and Your Own Success:
- Record and manage adjustments to revenue, deferred revenue, and contra accounts as required for financial adjustments under US GAAP.
- Manage the quarterly review and annual audit of revenue accounting.
- Hands-on experience in professional services accounting including revenue, cost, and intercompany transactions.
- Understanding of intercompany processing, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
- Maintain a SOX-compliant revenue environment.
- Prepare standard and ad-hoc reporting requests as scheduled or needed.
- Monthly and quarterly responsibility for recording and reconciling purchase accounting adjustments for acquisitions.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition methods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as the role requires attending calls with stakeholders across the globe.
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization for timely closure of books.
- Working in shifts is required for this role.
- Utilize accounting skills to analyze key financial data.
- Prepare various reports on a defined schedule.
- Deliver monthly balance sheet reconciliations using the OneStream tool.
- Proficient in preparing various types of journal entries.
- Deep knowledge of Revenue Accounting.
- Hands-on experience working with various deferred revenue accounts is a must.
- Knowledge of unbilled revenue accounting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP and OneStream.
- Ability to work with Excel, analyze and interpret data, and deliver complex reports on request.
- Support completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end HQ controllership reporting, analytics, and deliverables.
- Prior experience in Internal/Stat audit finalization, US GAAP, and Professional Services accounting is desired.
- Experience in MicroStrategy reporting, Zuora RevPro and/or Certinia PSA tool is required.
- Experience in MS Access database is a plus.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in Revenue Accounting.
- Qualification: B.Com / M.Com; MBA in Finance is preferred.
- Computer Systems: Strong experience with MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Proficiency in preparing and delivering reports to decision makers.
- Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities to perform under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills; prior experience dealing with US clients is a plus.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, and clients.
- Knowledge and experience working with large-scale ERP general ledger systems such as Oracle or SAP.
- Experience working with business intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy and familiarity with OneStream reporting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Previous experience preparing high-volume, high-impact journal entries.
- Flexibility to support extended hours during month-end and quarter-end close cycles.
