As a Revenue Recognition Analyst at BMC, you will consult the territory managers during sales cycles on deal structuring to comply with revenue recognition guidelines, as well as reviewing and analyzing large software contracts and the documentation of significant terms.  You will play a key role in evaluating processing workflows, identifying potential improvement areas, and managing the implementation of process changes/improvements. Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: 
  • Gather facts, solve problems, and provide a detailed analysis of several facets of a transaction to determine the amount and timing of revenue recognition.  
  • Prepare final revenue recognition accounting conclusions and supporting documentation for transactions in the respective territories.
  • Act as an educator and advisor to various groups on software revenue recognition best practices.
  • Work on special projects as needed. 

To ensure you are set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • You have a bachelor’s degree and experience identifying revenue recognition issues on incoming deals.
  • Your background includes preparation of revenue recognition documents for contracts, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
  • You have worked with Sales and Best Practices on contract issues providing suggestions and assistance for contract negotiation around contract parameters and requirements to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • You use your process driven mindset to evaluate workflows, identifying potential improvement areas and manage the implementation of those improvements.
