The Service Designer is responsible to help ensure the defining, prioritizing, planning, and driving the execution and vision for the existing and future service lines, as they relate to Helix. The Service Designer must possess business acumen, as well as engineering wherewithal, in order to be able to strategize, solution and bring Service to market. The Service Designer will work extensively with Product line managers, Marketing, Engineering, Sales teams, and Corporate Marketing in order to successfully prioritize and develop the Service that our customers desire. This role would ideally suit a technical savvy person with exceptional written and verbal coms to both technical and executive audiences. 

Primary Responsibilities

Define and innovate and improve the Helix service

Serve as a subject matter expert for the Helix Service.

Create and manage service strategies, roadmaps, project plans and service specifications to continually improve the BMC Helix service.

With assistance from technical authors, create and manage technical content/documentation, ensure online documentation is up to date for the field as it relates to the Helix Services

Collaborate with marketing and engineering on product development during the discovery phase to assess value, usability and feasibility of product features as they relate to SaaS

Evangelise and enable with cross functional product / R&D teams.

Work closely with customers, partners and technology alliances either supporting the field with opportunities, be it executive briefings or written Q/A


Technically savvy with good understanding of BMC Helix products

Experience working with cross functional teams and departments to drive project completion

Attention to detail is critical

5 years’ experience in a presales / technical product / service manager successfully delivering service

Strong technical writing skills

Contract and commercial acumen is desirable

Passion for great user experience and design 

Proven strong communication / presentation skills 

Being able to work as part of team.
