We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead key functional areas of our HELIX Service Management business, including BMC Configuration Database Management (CMDB) as well as our Reporting and Analytics products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in enterprise software and a proven track record of successfully leading product teams at both start-up and enterprise organizations.
Supports the sales organization in strategic sales opportunities; participates in industry forums and standards groups to raise the visibility of our solutions. 
Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the product strategy in alignment with company goals and market trends.
  • Accountable for delivering detailed requirements for new and existing end-to-end solution use cases based on subject matter expertise and a deep understanding of the end-user personas.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive product improvements and enhancements, ensuring a customer-centric design approach.
  • Conduct market research and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and trends, staying ahead of industry developments.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and other teams to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and make data-driven decisions.
  • Drive innovation by identifying new product opportunities, emerging technologies, and disruptive trends.
  • Supports the sales organization in strategic sales opportunities; participates in industry forums and standards groups to raise the visibility of our solutions. 
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in product management with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing Enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Extensive experience in managing Enterprise SaaS products, preferably within the IT Service and/or Operations Management markets.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytics-focused role either as a practitioner or product manager, with expertise in data analysis, visualization, and reporting tools.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) products, with a deep understanding of CMDB concepts, data modeling, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience in agile development, working closely with and influencing engineering teams and ensuring predictable SaaS delivery.
  • A healthy mix of ‘inbound’ and ‘outbound’ product manager qualities – uniquely analytical, detail-oriented, and able to operate in the abstract.
  • Understand and empathize with the entire flywheel, from product and engineering, all the way through sales, marketing, professional services, and customer support.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and KPI tracking.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing. 
  • A customer-centric mindset with the ability to gather and analyze customer feedback to drive product improvements and enhancements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas and strategies to stakeholders effectively
Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills: 

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, business, or engineering. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
