The BMC Professional services team sits at the intersection of technology and business. This team is responsible for our customers success, ensuring the smooth implementation of BMC products in their environments. You will be the product expert that guides our customers through education, delivery and implementation.

The BMC Principal Consultant provides functional and technical leadership on engagements, translating requirements into a technical implementation plan. The Principal Consultants works as the senior technical (product) subject matter expert ("SME") and provides technical advice, guidance, and expertise regarding implementation best practices.

The Principal Consultant works closely with the BMC eco-system to provide product and implementation feedback and to drive resolution for engagement specific product and support issues.An individual contributor that:

  • Can prioritize getting the right tasks done first, and works with internal eco-system to maintain knowledge.
  • Provides on time, accurate and realistic status reports or input to status reports using standard templates.
  • Completes accurate time sheets and expenses on time.
  • Is seen as a trusted technical advisor by the Customer.
  • Uses best practices to consistently make prescriptive recommendations within the scope of the Customer's business goals.
  • Acts as a mentor and role model and is sought out by peers as such.
  • Is dependable for accurate, timely information and provides assistance without compromising own deliverables responsibilities.
  • Completes all tasks with minimum re-work, including capturing Customer input and review with zero services defect and warranty time.
  • Seeks to identify and mitigate risks before issues arise.
  • Actively manages Customer expectations to ensure a clear understanding of responsibilities, timelines and deliverables, measured by zero scope creep.
  • Take technical decisions during engagements and successfully manage technical conflicts.
  • Ambassador for BMC solutions with Customers and peers and communicates with confidence and accuracy via Chatter.
  • Applies and leads projects team members on BMCx delivery methodology.
  • Consistently achieves utilization targets and balances with development plans to ensure skills are updated and in demand.
  • Promotes harvesting and sharing of information from completed projects with wider BMC Services community using internal tools available.
  • Fulfills all Ethics and Compliance training and testing requirements to project BMC interests and assets as own at all times.
  • 10(+) relevant years technical IT experience that includes:
    • 7(+) relevant years BMC product line experience.
    • 4(+) relevant years deploying enterprise management software solutions.
  • Additional experiences include:
    • 3(+) projects as Technical Lead.
    • 3(+) production solutions implemented.
    • 3(+) deployment(s) across Dev, UAT & Prod for full project life-cycle.
    • Technical lead rescuing at risk or endangered projects in conjunction with Sales, Support & R&D
    • Multiple 6(+) month engagements or experience in a project for the entire project lifecycle.
  • Team member of 3(+) strategic account engagements.
  • Demonstrable success in building key relationships with the BMC eco-system including Sales, Support, and Product Engineering.
