BMC Software are looking for a Qualified Systems Administrator to join our growing team. You will be working in our Tools & Monitoring team based in the US.
In this position, the successful candidate will work very closely with our BMC SaaS Ops SRE Team, as well as our DevOps, Customer Support and Services functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working on JIRA stories to automate the Task/Activities to reduce overall project activity/change time.
• Coordinate with internal teams including NOC, Infrastructure Team, Customer Support Team, Services Team.
• Administration of BMC TrueSight Operations Manager
• Configure and deploy monitoring solutions using BMC Patrol Agents
• Configure and deploy Synthetic monitoring solutions using TrueSight, TMART
• Configure monitoring for Kubernetes environment using Prometheus, TrueSight
• Develop MRL scripts required by monitoring, integration
• Configure network monitoring using Entuity, SolarWinds NPM, Thousand Eyes
• Develop and configure CMA policies including tag, filter, group, and monitor policies
• Configure and fine tune KPI, baselines and monitoring thresholds at global, local, and instance level
• Develop and Configure custom monitoring solutions, dashboards, interface
• Manage and support Integrations with BMC Remedy, BMC Service resolution, CMDB, other BMC products
• Build integration to non-BMC monitoring solutions
• Provide reports, stats, metrics to users and help debug issues with Infrastructure and Applications
• On call Support for Critical priority issues
• Addressing user Incidents & requests regarding Monitoring configurations.
Position Requirements:
• Working knowledge of latest version of BMC Products, various migration tools along with BMC Helix.
• Working knowledge of SaaS, Cloud Technologies and various Integrations
• Working Knowledge of TrueSight Ops Management, Patrol, TrueSight Synthetic Monitoring, TMART, Entuity, Prometheus, Grafana, Atrium Orchestrator, etc.
• Ability to work with significant deadlines for SRE & DevOps projects.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DBFS, etc.
• Able to design & document the requirements comprehensively to execute the Project Plans.
• Ability to automate complex requirements using scripting. Very good troubleshooting skills to debug the scripts - DOS Batch, Power Shell, Perl, Python, Unix Shell script and Java Scripts, etc.
• Hard Working, dedicated & effective communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding & work experience on BMC products - BMC Remedy, BMC Discovery, BMC App Visibility Manager, BMC End User Experience Monitoring tool.
• Would need to work in US time zone and rotating on-call Support for Critical priority issues for both weekdays and weekends
• Early US working hours will be preferred to get handover from India Team.
This position is a part of BMC SaaS Release Model. This will include weekends during releases/cutover activities and after hour work as needed.
In this role you will also be working with our Gov clients, so security clearance or willingness to go through the security clearance process is essential.
