Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!
BMC is looking for a System Administrator to join our amazing team! 

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled macOS & Jamf Administrator to manage, maintain, and evolve our Apple device ecosystem. The role focuses on Jamf Pro administration, macOS image management, policy deployment, and automation using scripting, primarily Bash. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient Mac endpoint management across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Jamf Management & Administration

• Administer and maintain Jamf Pro for macOS device management
• Design, deploy, and maintain Jamf policies, configuration profiles, and smart/static groups
• Manage macOS upgrades, security patching, and OS lifecycle
• Support Jamf integrations with identity, security, and compliance platforms
• Troubleshoot Jamf-related issues impacting device enrollment, policies, and compliance

macOS Imaging & Build Management

• Maintain and update the corporate macOS image
• Ensure standardization, security baselines, and application packaging
• Test and validate macOS images, upgrades, and patches before production rollout
• Collaborate with security and endpoint teams to align images with corporate policies

Scripting & Automation

• Develop and maintain Bash scripts for: 
o Device configuration
o Application install/uninstall
o Remediation and self-healing workflows
o Pre and post installation tasks
• Enhance automation to reduce manual operational effort
• Review, optimize, and document existing scripts

Operational Support

• Provide Level 2/3 support for macOS related issues
• Participate in change management, testing, and controlled deployments
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Collaborate with global IT, security, and endpoint management teams

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience: 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands on experience with Jamf Pro administration
• Solid understanding of macOS architecture and system internals
• Proven Bash scripting experience in an enterprise environment

Experience managing: 
  • macOS upgrades and patching
  • Configuration profiles
  • Endpoint security controls
  • Familiarity with Apple device enrollment (ADE/DEP), MDM concepts, and compliance models

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • macOS security hardening
  • Zero touch deployment models
  • Application packaging for macOS
  • Knowledge of additional scripting languages (Python is a plus)
  • Experience in large, globally distributed enterprise environments

Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Clear documentation and communication skills
• Comfortable collaborating with global teams across time zones

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience managing macOS devices in an enterprise environment
• Prior experience with enterprise endpoint management tools is required
