BMC Helix is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and has global operations in numerous international locations.  BMC Helix’s EMEA operations are  dispersed across the EMEA region.

In October 2024, BMC announced the decision to create two stand-alone companies, one of which will primarily include the BMC’s digital service and operations management business and related professional services (together referred to as the ‘Helix Business’), and the other which will include the remaining BMC businesses.

As a Manager reporting to the Director - EMEA Accounting, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the local statutory and US GAAP accounting (including oversight of the activities performed by the Financial Shared Services organization located in Pune, India), the statutory reporting and filing within the countries which it operates, compliance with internal control and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for EMEA, corporate compliance and controlling for the region, consisting of 18 countries and 19 entities. 

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly US GAAP close process for the EMEA region, ensuring that accounts are maintained accurately in accordance with US GAAP, management of corporate deadlines and reporting requirements, analyzing results, and ensuring quality control processes are adhered to and are effective. 
  • Responsible for the management of the annual statutory accounts filing process for certain entities across EMEA, including coordination with audit firms, legal and tax providers, and company directors necessary for completion of the filing process. 
  • Awareness of updates of local accounting, tax, and US GAAP requirements and integrate these into the daily accounting processes, ensuring compliance where required.
  • Responsible for managing various SOX compliance processes on a monthly and quarterly basis as it relates to the above entities.
  • Interface with Corporate internal audit and assist Management to assess controls and procedures as they relate to the above region and recommend and implement changes where required.
  • Reviewing trial balances and financial reports on a monthly basis via analytical review combined with in-depth review of specific risk areas to determine whether any adjustments are necessary and coordinating the recording of any adjustments with the Financial Shared Services organization.
  • Performing variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement on a monthly basis to identify potential required adjustments.
  • Reviewing and approving monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Calculating and/or reviewing entity-level accounting for compliance with the various group intercompany agreements.
  • Provision of data, documentation, and other support for corporate income tax return preparation and tax restructuring projects (in cooperation with the Tax Department). Assist with tax accounting tasks for EMEA along with the Tax department to ensure we are compliant with US GAAP tax accounting requirements.
  • Reviewing and preparing statutory (or any other type of) audit documentation (including coordination and review of documentation prepared by the Financial Shared Services organization). 
  • Liaising with Tax, FP&A, Legal and other key stakeholders to assess risks and priorities.
  • Working closely with the other departments such as AP and Payroll for forecasting of cash requirements, and entity profitability.
  • Participating in various ad-hoc projects and other non-core tasks, as and when required. This may include, but is not limited to:
    • Acquisition and liquidation of certain entities
    • Working capital forecasts
    • Implementation of new systems
    • Input on adjustments to business processes
    • Establishing relationships with 3rd party vendors, consultants and service providers
  • Advising and assisting the Legal department regarding corporate secretarial and financial matters related to legal entity establishment.
  • Manage a small team of senior accountants.

To ensure you are set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • You hold a degree in a Higher Professional Economics/Accounting education or a university degree (Bachelor/Masters). Completion of a CPA-equivalent education (such as CECCAR/ACA/RA/ACCA/CIMA) is a plus.
  • You have 5-8 years of working experience, preferably in an international environment.
  • You should feel comfortable working in an international dynamic, culturally diverse and challenging organization. It is extremely important that the Manager can work independently, and ensure deadlines are met within a fast-paced environment. 
  • You have excellent verbal and written English skills and ability to interact effectively with peers to build strong working relationships.
  • You have computer literacy (preferably Oracle Financials, OneStream, MicroStrategy and Windows-based software applications) and a hands-on mentality.
  • You have attention to detail.
  • Be able to plan and coordinate across organizations in a proactive manner.
  • Be able to identify potential issues and take the initiative to resolve issues outside their area of responsibility. 
  • Be a flexible self-starter, and able to work on their own initiative.
  • Be a team player and support others where possible to reach the overall team objectives.
  • You have the ability to understand and improve complex processes to achieve the best results.
