BU/Product Description & Job Overview

The New VS Renewal (NVR) will work as part of the Order Services team to support, validate and process consulting transaction to assist internal and external customers with the review and analysis of transactions that require special attention.

Also analyzing contractual documents and assisting internal teams or external customers in resolving issues with NVR Numbers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing reviews that compare current transactions with past transactions to determine what is the value of New Business being attained with the current transaction, taking into consideration established company policies, rules, and guidelines as well as any applicable accounting controls.
  • Ensures correct analysis is performed and results are posted to allow sales to structure deals and Order Services Coordinators to book orders correctly
  • Ensure orders or assists in ensuring orders are booked compliant to the established licensing policies in accordance with Corporate, SOX, Revenue Recognition and/or VSOE policies and procedures
  • Act as a consultant to different departments within BMC, like Sales and Best Practices, to help evaluate future transactions to find the structure that will maximize new revenue for BMC.
  • Coordinates with OSCs booking orders to ensure that orders are booked per the applicable analysis performed.
  • Can understand complex processes and concepts, apply applicable logic, and problem solve situations that include a high degree of complexity to provide the business with results that are used to guide business decisions.
  •  Ensures all required documentation are present in relationship to transactions that required analysis
  • Develops and maintains effective communication with sales team, Order Services teams, commissions, or accounting teams to enable problem resolution
  • Expected to be knowledgeable about the Quote to Invoice process related to the booking of orders as well as the different tools required for research related to Customer information and transaction history. 
  • Will be involved in design and acceptance testing of BMC Order Services applications.


Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years Order management experience with good Analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, SFDC and financial operations processes.
  • Knowledge and experience with license and/or software accounting, legal operations, and understanding of license revenue recognition requirements
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exposure to SFDC, Oracle & MicroStrategy
  • Experience of working with global/other teams.
  • Ability to understand and resolve queries from business units and team members.
  • Ability to co-relate figures, do analysis, and make relevant Decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer orientation- Extremely organized and detail oriented- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced- Ability to meet deadlines
