The BMC SaaS Operations team is a critical group in the design, architecture, configuration, maintenance, and availability of our SaaS Services product portfolio. We work closely with our product teams, architecture, and customers to provide the highest levels of availability, service, and customer success. Being nice is a requirement and you will be working in a high-speed and collaborative team.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary role of the SaaS Database Manager will be to “manage” the day to day operations of the database team. This will include managing the following:  the L1 and L2 DBA shift support team, Remedy tickets (Incidents, Work Orders, and Change Requests), change management review (attending and representing the DBA team in the weekly Change Advisory Board meetings), L1 & L2 DBA shift scheduling. Additionally, the DBA Manager will be required to support and collaborate with fellow peers as well other teams and organizations within BMC. He will be expected to on occasion communicate and work with external customers. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
8+ years of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Postgres knowledge and experience either as a DBA or as a DBA manager
3+ years as an IT Manager is required
Practical experience with Windows and/or Linux based servers
Ability to lead a talented team of DBA in a highly active and pressurized environment
Drive automation and compliance in a standardizing effort across database solutions and associated technologies
Support HA and DR environments including database backup and recovery
Work together with other teams in delivering BMC’s SaaS solution to customers
ITIL experience 
Drive organization and structure through established processes both new and old
Outstanding communication skills
Self-starter, high work ethic
Absolutely understands work – life balance in the IT industry
Support 24/7 operations with possible weekend support including being available by mobile phone

DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:
6+ years of working as a DBA in a high-pressure/high-demanding environment
Strong experience in T-SQL and PostgreSQL
Managing and working with international teams
Troubleshooting and tuning experience in RDMS and related technologies
