We are currently hiring a Finance Manager in Houston who will lead our Commissions Analytics organization.

This role is part of a collaborative group where people are willing to step out of their roles to help others.  The finance team members at BMC serve as trusted advisors to the business group and have responsibility for budgeting, expense management, forecasting, and business analysis.  In this role you will primarily collaborate across Global Field Compensation, Strategic Revenue Operations, and Finance Consolidation teams.

What you get to do every day
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly reporting cycles with consistent, succinct, action-oriented executive packages
  • Lead the analysis of financial information and trends relating to quota credit and compensation for the consolidated Finance organization
  • Drive the finance support relating to the creation and implementation of the annual sales incentive compensation plan
  • Manage scenario modeling and costing for sales program incentive funds and payment exceptions
  • Work with accounting to validate monthly Commissions accruals
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and data mining efforts, when required
  • Create and maintain process documentation with an eye towards process improvement and enhancement via technology
  • Articulate results to both finance and business leadership audiences
  • Coach business partners regarding the financial impact of their decisions and accompanying analytics
  • Manage and oversee a direct staff of two, U.S.-based (Houston) staff

Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting concentration preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate Finance
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts clearly and credibly to multiple audiences 
  • Self-starter with an ability to dig into details, develop an understanding of and navigate complex situations with minimal guidance
  • Knowledge of financial principles and accounting / budgeting practice
  • Strong analytical skills and experience managing and manipulating large data sets 
  • Understanding of core finance business processes to ensure timely delivery of financial results including Quarterly Business Reviews, close processes, SOX controls, and audits

Nice to have
  • Previous work experience working in the enterprise software industry preferred and finance organization experience (aka FP&A) related to Sales Commissions or Sales Compensation a strong plus
  • Knowledge of OneStream, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Oracle, Zuora, and/or Alteryx 
  • MBA a plus
