Control-M from BMC has been the category leading product for many years.  To extend our market leadership position further, we launched BMC Helix Control-M, a SaaS version of the product, to expand our servable market, attract new buyers, and increase consumption with current customers.

In this role, the Lead Solution Marketing Manager, SaaS will be responsible to lead the cross-functional execution of our SaaS go-to-market and customer journey process. The position will collaborate with Solutions Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Pre-Sales, Customer Success, and Services to execute and continually improve the three phases of the customer journey. This journey begins with Awareness and ends in Renewal, including strategic and tactical elements required to advance customers through every moment-that-matters.  

Primary points of responsibility include, but will not be limited to:
  • Continually research and refine buyer personas, pains and gains, and use cases, testing buyer motivations and process, demand content effectiveness, and evolving the acquisition phase of the customer journey to increase velocity, lead quality, conversion to opportunity, and closed/won rates.
  • Develop and support the marketing influence program across the customer lifecycle ensuring a real-time, data-driven, closed-loop analytics capability that maximizes demand effectiveness, accelerates sales cycles, reduces cost of customer acquisition, drives adoption, and reduces churn.
  • Define and create a variety of sales enablement and customer facing sales content and tools to accelerate buy cycles and improve closed/won ratios.
  • Develop and maintain detailed reporting on key go-to-market metrics, refining as the program evolves, and driving adoption of performance metrics and management across all customer journey phases.  
  • Collaborate closely with Solutions Marketing and Product Management subject matter experts, and the SaaS Customer Success team, to ensure market analysis and customer feedback is incorporated directly into new marketing content and product roadmap development. 
This position will function with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility as the SaaS marketing and go-to-market subject matter expert for the Digital Business Automation business unit across multiple management levels, geographies, and organizations.  This position will need to navigate situations of ambiguity, requiring strong organizational, inter-personal, problem solving, collaboration, process and policy setting skills. 

Experience:
  • 5-7 years of combined experience in marketing, product management, or sales leadership in B2B software, preferably SaaS software.  
  • Experience marketing and selling products moving from an enterprise, on-premises business model to SaaS delivery is highly preferred.  
  • Experience with solutions targeted to IT operations buyer personas or those personas who are responsible to deliver line-of-business driven digital products or programs such as Application Development leaders, DevOps leaders, and/or Architects (Enterprise, Data, DevOps or Cloud).    
  • Strong understanding of SaaS marketing and Go-to-Market strategies and tactics that maximize a land, adopt, expand and renew (LAER) business model across multiple geographies and sales channels.
Required Skills:
  • Strong presentation skills, presence, with strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and persuasive skills leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to own and drive a full-cycle SaaS marketing, sales, adoption and customer affinity process in a cross-functional organization including strong demand to sales opportunity execution and analytics.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable with moderate to high levels of ambiguity, being capable of reducing complex, multi-faceted technical and business situations into clear and compelling recommendations for action.
  • Must exhibit professional maturity, good judgment, leadership skills and remain cool under pressure operating with personal integrity in all situations.
  • Must be a critical and strategic thinker, willing to take calculated risks, act independently when required, and have a high degree of personal initiative.
  • Business experience with other cultures and foreign language skills are a strong plus.
Education:
  • BA or BS in marketing, business, or software engineering or equivalent technical background, with an MBA highly preferred.
Position Requirements:
  • The position is a remote, work from home position located in the US.  Consideration may be given to outstanding individuals in other locations in Canada, UK, or Ireland.
  • Domestic and international travel required, approximately 25%.
