PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: 
The successful candidate will be designing and maintaining a test automation program that will impact several strategic BMC products.
The team is working on a next-generation UI Platform, which is used by 30+ products across the organization. The goal is to put together a scalable automation infra for UI, which can be leveraged by both Platform and application teams. The SQA lead will help define the way modern CI/CD, Promotion is done for UI artifacts. Strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to assume ownership and drive issues to completion are the key success factors. 

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY: 
  • Create, develop and maintain automation test infra and harness for UI
  • Gather testing needs from our project teams, and determine priorities that are consistent with business goals and objectives
  • Provide accurate estimations and designs, create project plans, test cases, and plans, & test strategies for testing functional and non-functional requirements  
  • Execute test plans and test cases for Web and Mobile applications, APIs, and Databases
  • Debug and troubleshoot features and fixes from our development teams
  • Work on a broad array of critical issues including automation, integration, and interoperability
  • Work closely with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to ensure products achieve desired level of quality 
  • Define risks that may impact schedules and suggest actions to eliminate or mitigate those risks
  • Maintain awareness of upcoming trends in the product/solution and their impact, influence stakeholders for any inclusions/exclusions
  • Identify tools/techniques that can improve efficiency 
  • Contribute to product and process improvements
  • Report problems found during testing via the defect tracking system 
  • Participate actively in the test cases review process 
  • Contribute to release-level architectural discussions

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 8+years of hands-on experience testing and automating enterprise products and owning test modules from E2E perspective 
  • Experience in test strategy, test planning, test case creation, execution, and defect reporting 
  • Ability to perform all forms of testing: functional, integration, install/upgrade, regression, database, PSR, etc. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of customer operations, software development processes, and product lifecycles 
  • Diverse experience in testing on different operating systems 
  • Experience in testing web and client/server applications
  • Presentation skills to conduct & drive meetings, participate in demos, product forums, etc. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Understanding of current UI/Front End frameworks  
  • Extensive and proven experience with software automation/scripting
  • Superior analytical skills  
  • Experience in agile development projects

DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of GUI accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG) 
  • ITIL knowledge/certification
