Program Manager

BMC Innovation Labs brings together customers, partners, and employees to accelerate the development of priority solutions. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to help run BMC Innovation Labs, responsible for the operationalization and execution of the innovation process for BMC incubations along with other Innovation Labs activities.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong project management background with a proven track record of successfully delivering on time-sensitive initiatives.

Primary responsibilities

  • Operationalize and execute on the innovation process for incubations
    • Plan, schedule, and run monthly ASP meeting (BMC’s Angel Team reviews progress of in-flight incubations and listens to new idea pitches during ASP meetings)
    • Communicate with and prepare the Angel Team (12 members of BMC’s Senior Leadership Team) for ASP meetings and relevant Innovation Labs activities
    • Aid incubations, as needed, through the innovation process, including milestones / deliverables definition, tracking incubation progress
    • Help triage new innovation submissions to ensure they are ready to be pitched
    • Help mentor innovators for new idea pitches and progress reviews
    • Update Innovation Labs intranet as needed
    • Create communication material related to innovation process for Angel Team, innovators, and BMC overall
    • Create and maintain reports and dashboards
    • Help manage Innovation Labs budget
    • Identify and manage risks / escalations as needed and on a timely basis; act as a point of contact for operational inquiries and escalations
    • Create communication material related to innovation process for Angel Team, innovators, and BMC overall

  • Organize and execute campaigns for innovation idea submission
    • Work with CTO Office, R&D, and Communications on promotions and campaigns to drive innovation idea submission by BMC employees (campaigns can include hack-a-thons, specific technology focus area for submission, special prizes)
    • Help with campaign communication and content development as needed

  • Work with BMC Communications to define and execute communication plan
    • Work with BMC Communications to define Innovation Labs communication framework
    • Help BMC Communications execute on communication activities (activities can include email communication, executive video, lunch & learn, bringing in outside speaker)
    • Help create communication content as needed
    • Work with executives and other resources as needed to execute on communication framework

  • Support customer and partner co-innovation initiatives
    • Work with VP of Innovation Labs to develop and execute customer and partner co-innovation initiatives
    • Guide co-innovation incubations through the innovation process and support customers / partners as needed
    • Help with communication and content creation related to co-innovation efforts

  • Define, manage, and execute special projects related to Innovation Labs
    • Special projects to support Innovation Labs will be identified as needed
    • Manage project details and requirements to meet aggressive timelines and to drive results
    • Collaborate with multiple teams and run projects spreading across various teams and business units

Skills and qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Excel
  • High level understanding of software development lifecycle
