The BMC product management team defines the future vision for the product line, analyzes business opportunities, specifies and prioritizes customer requirements directs product development teams, defines pricing, and supports successful commercial outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.

As a Lead Product Manager, you will own the vision for your product by working with top customers to identify differentiated features that add real customer value and deliver desired business outcomes. You will work with solutions marketing, engineering, sales and pre-sales, and support teams to ensure the right product is built, sales teams are enabled, and customers are satisfied. You will make tough tactical prioritization decisions and tradeoffs while helping the company think long-term to manage your product roadmap.

To be successful with us you'll need serious and significant enterprise/B2B software product experience; polished and confident communications skills and be willing to travel up to 30% of the time. You also need strong technical abilities and experience with developer tools. Knowledge of DevOps, Continuous Integration Tools, Test Automation Tools, Git, Jenkins and/or VS Code is a major advantage.

To succeed at this job you will need:

  • At least 5 years product management experience in enterprise/B2B software
  • A deep understanding of the application development life-cycle and related technologies
  • Knowledge of agile, especially lean approaches, will be advantageous
  • The ability to distill complex business and technical use cases into a well-structured, data-informed written narrative
  • Experience with complex sales processes, working with sales and presales staff
  • Experience collaborating with marketing staff to ensure clear intern and external messaging
  • Represent the customer and bring the customer’s voice into the creation process
  • Confidence in presenting to different types of audience (technical/business, junior/senior, small/large)
  • Self-starter and hands-on learner
  • The ability to move seamlessly between the 'big picture' and very low levels of technical and business detail
  • The perseverance, energy, and understanding required to effect change in multiple areas
  • BS or equivalent, Computer Science / Engineering
