This role will involve both inbound and outbound product management activities involving a key set of solutions in the security and configuration management/automation space. As a Product Manager, you will have an important role in the team and help drive the delivery of new, innovative solutions in this space.

You will identify key business challenges that our customers are facing and help the product team prioritize new features and capabilities to effectively solve or alleviate them. You will also work closely with the engineering teams to define product roadmaps as well as with solutions marketing teams to help articulate the value our solutions are providing.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Work with customers to prioritize and drive improvements into the existing product sets to deliver additional value to the customer base
  • Form close working partnerships with your R&D counterparts and provide “the voice of the customer” to articulate market/customer needs, define requirements and help prioritize our development work.
  • Understand the market and competition around the AIOps, monitoring, and analytics space. Identify areas of differentiation for BMC.
  • Support the solutions marketing team to clearly articulate the value of our solutions and the problems we help solve. Help enable our field teams to successfully sell our offerings
  • Develop long term strategies that align with BMC’s corporate objectives and drive the seamless execution of the plan.
  • Support the sales teams at key events and customer meetings. This role will involve some public speaking opportunities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate profile is that of a passionate customer advocate within BMC and has a deep understanding of the markets we play in. To that end, he or she must be able to develop a clear strategy and business rationale for enhancement to and expansion of different features and functionalities that help us deliver on that strategy. He or she will work with many different parts of the BMC organization, and as such, will need to be an effective influencer as well as a passionate leader. This product leader position will be known for thinking big and be simultaneously able to dive deep into details. The candidate may have experience working in a multinational corporation and proven success at leveraging central resource groups on behalf of the business. This person will have a track record as an inspirational people influencer.

Must have experience/criteria for the role:
  • Overall 12 years, and 5+ years of service assurance experience (AIOps, monitoring, application performance, service analytics, etc).
  • Ability to take large objectives, break into smaller tasks, prioritize, and ensure successful phased execution.
  • Expects, requires, and demonstrates continuous innovation. 
  • The ability to understand and articulate technical concepts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (spoken and written), and influencing skills and an ability to navigate a complex and unstructured cross-functional environment.
  • Proven track record of customer obsession.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Results orientation.
  • Ability to think big and to inspire passion in others.
Preferred qualification:
  • Experience working with Agile concepts and practices.
  • Experience designing service assurance solutions.
  • Experience working with DevOps/SRE methodology.
  • Experience with the container (ex. Kubernetes) and public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) technologies.
  • Understanding of AI and ML techniques.
