The IZOT product line includes BMC’s Intelligent Z Optimization & Transformation products, which help the world’s largest companies to monitor and manage their mainframe systems. As the Lead Product Developer - Frontend Developer at BMC, your responsibilities will include high level and low-level designing and developing a new product from scratch. This role involves translating UI/UX designs into functional code, optimizing web applications for maximum speed and scalability, and ensuring our products deliver an exceptional user experience. The ideal candidate is skilled in front-end web technologies, has a keen eye for design, should have his own vision for UI and UX and is passionate about delivering high-quality products. You will collaborate across different BMC product lines, including new function development and product maintenance, and communicate with various teams to resolve customer issues.  

You will work as part of BMC’s Cloud and Storage team, specifically focusing on our AMI Cloud product family. AMI Cloud is BMC's high-performance data management and mainframe modernization solution.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

  • You have at least 12 years of frontend development experience and 5+ years of exp as frontend tech lead.  
  • You have at least 10 years of work experience in Angular and React.
  • You have experience in a Web based environment utilizing JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, VScode, HTML5, CSS3, SASS.
  • You have experience working with responsive web design and UI Testing and automation tools like Jasmine, JEST, Playwright
  • You have problem solving skill using data structures and algorithms.
  • You have knowledge of design patterns, object-oriented software development and high-performance code characteristics and of version control systems like Git and bitbucket. 
  • You have a security-oriented approach and mindset and understands distributed systems and high standards for code quality.
  • Mentor senior engineers and contribute to raising the technical bar in front-end architecture.
  • Proven experience working with distributed team across multiple time zones.
  • Proven experience with setting development standards and best practices (code review, automation, deployment etc.)
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices. 
  • Experience with Agile methodology, use of Atlassian products Jira, Confluence. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:

  • Figma, Adobe XD or Axure
  • Experience with Container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Jenkins/Continuous integration
  • Accessibility understanding like Section 508, WCAG
