The IZOT product line includes BMC’s Intelligent Z Optimization & Transformation products, which help the world’s largest companies to monitor and manage their mainframe systems. BMC is looking for a talented z/OS Platform Systems Admin to join our family working on packaging, enhancing, and monitoring internal systems used to deliver mainframe products to BMC customers.

• Monitor and maintain automated processes, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate with the product, teams to ensure fixes, releases, and enhancements are delivered.

• Perform problem analysis and work with IBM to resolve problems on all supported subsystems and developing documentation and provides knowledge transfer to peers.

• Implement new hardware and software technologies as required

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Seven (7) or more years’ experience with one or more of the following is required: IBM DS89xx/DS88xx, EMC and Hitachi Data Systems disk storage, IBM TS77xx and EMC DLm virtual tape subsystems, Brocade or IBM storage directors.
Expert knowledge of and proficiency with IBM products and utilities, such as DFSMShsm, DFSMSdss, DFSMStvs, ZFS, IBM disk and tape management utilities; prefer strong experience with BMC utilities.
Experience with managing a complex IBM SMS and non-SMS environment.

Other qualifications:

Seven (7) or more years of systems support background, including a working knowledge of using SMP/E to apply IBM maintenance.
Familiarity with TSO, CLIST, REXX and ISPF.
Familiarity with cloud storage (e.g. IBM Transparent Cloud Tiering) and object storage systems, including Model 9/AMI Cloud software is a plus.
Familiarity with z/VM mini-disks and storage is a plus.
Familiarity with BMC AMI Storage family of products is a plus.
Knowledge of and proficiency with installation, configuration and maintenance processes.
Ability to remain calm, cordial, and effective during the resolution of time critical system interruptions/difficulties/failures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Thorough problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to work issues to resolution, and independent work habits.

JOB DUTIES

Installs, tests, implements, maintains, enhances, interfaces and supports storage management products such as IBM DFSMS, IBM DFSMShsm, AMI Storage software subsystems, and infrastructure applications and/or associated facilities.
Monitor and maintain installed storage capacity to insure efficient, cost-effective utilization.
Provide for hardware and software configurations to meet R&D requirements.
Maintain system and data backup copies to protect BMC against loss of data and maintain data integrity.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is INR 2,486,550 - INR 4,144,250.
